What we compare today
Four voucher sellers: Woohoo, Gyftr, EaseMyDeal and Dealzy. One payment route: UPI. We treat a seller’s all-methods listing as a UPI listing, because it is one.
Card rewards, wallet loads and net banking are not compared. When a card route earns points that beat a UPI discount, we cannot tell you that yet.
How options are ordered
- A live discount always ranks above an option with no offer running.
- If you gave us an amount, options the seller can actually issue rank above ones we cannot verify, and those rank above ones that definitely cannot issue it.
- Then by discount, highest first.
- Then by how recently we checked.
Ordering by discount alone would put a 14% offer at the top even when the seller cannot issue the amount you asked for. That is a worse answer than a smaller discount you can actually buy.
One product, several listings
Sellers list the same voucher separately, so one product can exist as four records, one per seller. Left alone, a comparison would only ever see one of them and call it the best.
Armani Exchange was four separate records: Dealzy at 10%, EaseMyDeal at 14%, Gyftr with nothing running, and Woohoo at 10%. Read one at a time, the 14% never appears.
We combine records at the moment you search, when they describe the same brand, cover the same redemption scope, and have no seller in common. Sharing a seller is the signal that two records are genuinely different products, which is why a MakeMyTrip hotel voucher never merges with a bus voucher.
We do this in the comparison rather than by editing the data, because a wrong merge would be permanent and a wrong rule is not.
Denominations
A discount is only real if the seller can issue the amount you want. Some sell fixed slabs, some allow any value in a range. Puma sells in slabs of 500, 750, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000, so an 11% discount does nothing for someone who needs exactly 3,000.
Where we do not hold denomination data, we say so and never assume it fits. That currently affects 157 live UPI options, almost all from one seller.
What we exclude
- Negative rates. A handful of card listings price above face value. Those are markups, not discounts, and never appear.
- Nothing else. A seller with no offer today still appears, marked “no offer”. Hiding it would imply we had not checked.
Zero is an answer
When a seller has been checked and has no discount running, we record 0% and show it. That is different from not having looked, and collapsing the two into a blank space is how a comparison quietly misleads people.
Freshness
Every figure carries the date it came from. Our data currently arrives as a single batch, which means we can tell you when the batch was built but not when each individual rate was last confirmed. Until that changes we show one date for the whole result rather than implying a precision we do not have. There is more on this on the data freshness page.
What we will not do
- Rank by anything other than this method.
- Accept payment for placement. Commission is earned on some outbound links, and it is not an input to the ranking.
- Fill a gap with an estimate and present it as a finding.
